Winning Streak comes to Cratloe.

RTE’s Winning Streak Team and The National Lottery were visitors to Cratloe’s Sportlann Mhichil Ui Mhurchú on Saturday last when the gameshow’s outside broadcast visited the parishes newly opened sporting amenity. Mrs. Kay Veale of Lemybrien Co. Waterford certainly made her long trip from the southeast worthwhile winning €30,000 on the wheel.

RTE’s television crew recorded action from a selection of the many groups who avail of the showcased Sportshall including Cratloe’s underage hurlers and camogie players, the Community Games, the Tennis Club, the Soccer Club and the Basketball Club.

Before Mrs. Veale’s lucky spin, show-host Geri Maye interviewed Club and Hall Committee Member, Eileen Murphy, Mother of Michael, after whom the hall is dedicated to, and asked her about the efforts made on behalf of the National Lottery and Local Community to fund the project. Hurling Panellist Aaron Carroll also spoke on the benefits of the hall as a training facility and the integral part it paid in Cratloe’s many successes in 2009.

A big thank you to all who organised and helped to present the hall splendidly on the day.
