2010 draws
If Cratloe are to retain the clubs first County Senior Hurling Championship they’ll certainly have to do it the hard way after again being drawn in a formidable group for the 2010 County Senior Hurling Championship.
Champions are always on a pedestal to be knocked and the element of surprise wont covet Cratloe’s efforts next season but, albiet escaping the three other semi-finalists from 2009 in tonights seeded draw, the hat could hardly have thrown up trickier opponents.
First up for Cratloe in May will be the rising outfit of Inagh/Kilnamona, serious contenders for the Canon Hamilton since their combination in ’07. Much hype and local interest will surely be expected when Cratloe will also face neighbours and rivals Sixmilebridge. Two outfits they narrowly defeated on their soujourn through their group last season will complete Cratloe’s fixtures. Wolfe Tones, who went down to Cratloe by the minimum last year and what is becoming the almost annual tussle with Tubber.
To be the best, you have to beat the best and Cratloe will look upon last seasons emergence from an equally tough group as valuable experience when they embark on 2010’s campaign.
